1. EAZA Bushmeat Campaign 2000/1
The bushmeat crisis is one of the biggest threats to the worlds most endangered species like gorilla, chimpanzee and elephant. EAZA efforts are needed to stop this illegal and unsustainable trade.
EAZA launched its first conservation campaign, in 2000. The campaign included public awareness activities and fundraising.
Most importantly however, a petition with demands directed at African and European leaders was developed to be signed by concerned zoo visitors.
