Australia and Oceania
The Australian territory is partly tropical and partly temperate. Only in its north-eastern part there are some rainfall virgin forests which are linked up with eucalyptus forests further in the south-east direction. Extensive deserts cover the central part of this continent. Only in this region members of the ancient subclass of oviparous mammals occur together with a wide spectrum of marsupials.
- Afro-Australian Fur Seal (Arctocephalus pusillus)
- Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus)
- Red-necked Wallaby (Macropus rufogriseus)
- Woylie (Bettongia penicillata)
